Entry Rules

1 - CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

The F2 CITIES 2015 is a Salón Internacional de Fotografía open to all Photographers around the world, amateurs and professionals. However an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions. Submission of entries implies the acceptance of all conditions. The entrant must be the owner of all rights of the submitted works. All parts of the picture must be photographed by the author.
Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own (aliases are not permitted). The entrant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website.
The works will not be used in a commercial context. There is no possibility of recourse to legal action.
The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright.
Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates subject to Nature, Photo Travel and Photojournalism divisional restrictions.
The contest is open for all pictures, digitally modified or not.
There are no restrictions as to subject matter except as outlined in the rules and definitions of specific sections, or specified by law in the country where the exhibition is held.

Monochrome Definition
A monochrome image is defined as having varying shades of no more than one color (various shades of that color from very light to very dark) but it may be any single color.
Multi-toned images (various shades of two or more colors) and greyscale images with added an accent color are not acceptable in Monochrome Class sections and must be entered in Color Class sections.

Photo Travel Photography Definition (colour y monochrome)
A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive features
or culture in its natural state. There are no geographical limitations. Close-up pictures of people or objects must
include distinguishable environment. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the
original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Conversion to full
monochrome is acceptable. Derivations, including infrared, are unacceptable.

Nature Definition (colour y monochrome)
Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and certify its honest presentation.
» The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality.
» Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves.
» Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible.
» Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals, or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement.
» No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by
cropping are permitted.
» Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging / burning.
» Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches, are allowed.
» Stitched images are not permitted.
» All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
» Color images can be converted to greyscale monochrome.
» Infrared images, either direct-captures or derivations, are not allowed.

Photojournalism Definition (colour y monochrome)
Photojournalism entries shall consist of images with informative content and emotional impact, including human interest, documentary, sports, and spot news. The story telling value of the image shall receive priority over pictorial quality. In the interest of credibility, PJ images must not misrepresent the truth. No situations shall be set up for the purpose of photography, and no alteration of the subject matter is allowed, including any techniques that add, combine, relocate, replace or remove any elements of the original image. No unnatural sharpening or special effect filters can be applied. Only cropping, resizing, lightening or darkening, and
restoration of original color are permitted. Color images can be converted to monochrome. Any sharpening must appear natural.

4 - ENTRY FORM AND SENDING PICTURES:

A máximum of 4 pictures (4 files) for each section (24 photographs máximum) can be sent, with the personal information to the online entry form (www.f2sociedadfotografica.com) SUGGESTED OPTION
Optionally, we’ll receive the entry forms by e-mail to (salon@f2sociedadfotografica.com) or in CD to the address that appear at the end of the entry.
Entries are limited to not more than 4 images (slides, prints, digital files) per section, category, or class. A mixed entry of slides and digital images in the same section are not allowed.
A list of all the files we received will be published in our web site for controlling purposes, with the notification of entry fee received and conditions of opening files. The list will be kept updated.

5 - DIMENSIONS OF PHOTOS (FORMAT):


The images must be saved in JPG format, in 72dpi resolution and not exceed 2MB.
Maximum image size is 1440 pixels (wide) x 1080 pixels (high).

6 - JUDGING DISPLAY:

The pictures will be judge in a high definition TV, in 1920x1080px resolution, the color space used is RGB (16.7 million colors, 24-bit).
Images of each participant are distributed through four rounds, NO views consecutively.

7 - IDENTIFICATION:


It is not necessary to encode the file. The only limitation is that names cannot be longer than 20 characters.
All entrants in must provide name and country data exactly the same in each exhibition entered to receive proper credit.
Each image must have a unique title. Once an image has been accepted in a PSA Recognized exhibition, that same image, or a like “in camera” or a “reproduction” duplicate of that image:
i. May not be re-entered in any section of the same Division Star Ratings class in that exhibition regardless of media, format, or title.
ii. May not be re-titled for entry in any other PSA Recognized exhibition.

8 - ENTRY FEE:

The special theme Cities is free of charge for all authors participating in the salon in at least one section.

The Works of the authors who do not pay participation fee will not be taken into consideration.

Among 30% to 35% of the works will be accepted (for each sections).

10 - RETURN AND NOTIFICATION CARD:


The files will not be sent back. They will be put into archives until next year's competition for controlling purposes. The results will be published on our web site (www.f2sociedadfotografica.com)

11 - CATALOGUE:

A catalog will be published in PDF with the winning works and accepted works on the website of the institution.
